5 make All-District girls soccer teams

Five area girls soccer players were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s All-District teams to close out the 2021 season. Mt. Pleasant’s Ryann Davidson and Fairfield’s Trisha Westphal were named on the Class 2A East All-District team. Columbus had two players, Juvixsa Valdez and Sarah Campa, named on the Class 1A Southeast All-District team, and Mid-Prairie’s Esther Hughes joined the Wildcat pair.

Class 2A East All-District Second team: Anna Hoffman (Mount Vernon), Anna Stromberg (Waverly-Shell Rock), Claire Pothitakis (Fort Madison), Emma Rodman (Mount Vernon), Georgia Brunkan (North Scott), Grace Heddens (Iowa City Liberty), Grace Pierce (Central DeWitt), Julianna Hill (Notre Dame), Lakin Houzenga (Clinton) Lily Fuglsang (Central DeWitt), Marisa Lopez (Central DeWitt), Mary Kate Bendlage (Fort Madison), Morgan Machovec (Central DeWitt), Ryann Davidson (Mt. Pleasant), Sofia Tello (Clinton), GK-Kathryn Grau (Central DeWitt), Paige Roos (Mount Vernon), Rylie Mussman (Clinton), Sam Harvey (Iowa City Liberty), Trisha Westphal (Fairfield).
