8th-grade girls play 2

The Washington eighth-grade girls basketball teams played at Mt. Pleasant Tuesday.

The A team lost 37-18 and its record is 2-6. The B team improved to 6-0-1 with a 21-12 win.

Makenna Conrad led the A team with 10 points, three rebounds and two steals. Other A stats were Alecia Goff - two points, one rebound, one steal; Kaylin Long - four points, three rebounds, five steals; Haley Mitchell - one point, two steals; Alex Murphy one point, two steals; Samantha Hunger - one steal; Iris Petersen - two rebounds, one steal; Bailey Rees and Grace Voss - one rebound each.

Samantha Hunger led the B team with eight points, nine rebounds and six steals. Other B stats were Anna Collett - three points, two rebounds, two steals; Makayla Garrelts - two points, one rebound, two steals; Gracey Simmering - six points, one rebound, one steal; Kenializ Espinosa - one rebound; Hayden Janecek - two steals; Ruby Ponce - one rebound, one steal; Ava Wulf - two points, three rebounds, two steals.
