8th grade girls win

The Washington eighth-grade girls basketball team won a home game over Burlington's Aldo Leopold Thursday.

The Demons A team evened its record at 2-2 with a 24-16 victory. There was no B game.

Makenna Conrad led the way with 12 points scored. She also had two steals. Other stats for Washington were; Grace Voss - six points, one rebound, one steal; Alecia Goff - two points; Kaylin Long - two points, two rebounds, three steals; Alex Murphy - two points, two rebounds; Abby Blasingame and Bailey Rees - two rebounds each; Kenializ Espinosa and Iris Petersen - two rebounds and two steals each; Samantha Hunger - one rebound; Hayden Janecek and Gracey Simmering - one steal each; Haley Mitchell - three steals.

Washington plays today at Keokuk.
