8th grade splits two games

The Washington eighth-grade girls basketball teams split a pair of games at Keokuk Tuesday.
The A team lost 29-14 to drop its record to 2-3. The B team improved its record to 4-0 with a 24-18 victory.
Alex Murphy scored 10 points, grabbed five rebounds and swiped two steals. Other A team stats were Makenna Conrad - two points, four rebounds; Kaylin Long - two points, two rebounds; Alecia Goff - one rebound; Haley Mitchell and Iris Petersen - one rebounds and one steal apiece; Grace Voss - one rebound, three steals.
Murphy also scored 10 points in the B game and added four rebounds and two steals. Other B game stats were Abby Blasingame - three points, three rebounds; Anna Collett - two points, three rebounds, one steal; Samantha Hunger - two points, five rebounds, one steal; Ruby Ponce - two points, one rebound; Gracey Simmering - two points, one rebound, three steal; Ava Wulf - two points, three rebounds, three steals; Hayden Janecek - one point, one rebound; Makayla Garrelts - one rebound, two steals; Haley Mitchell - two rebounds, one steal; Iris Petersen two rebounds, one steal.
Washington plays today at Edward Stone in Burlington.
