Carlos Lopez, left, and Jay Olson joined friends at Press Box on Friday night to watch game seven of the World Series between the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lopez, a Rangers fan from Pasadena, Texas, and Olson, a Cardinals fan from Agency, Iowa, are both Iowa Wesleyan students. Despite the competition between their favorite baseball teams, the two remained friendly as they exchanged banter.
At the time of the photo, the Cardinals led the Rangers by a score of 5-2 in the sixth inning.
?I?m a little nervous,? Lopez said.
It turns out that his fear was well-founded. The Cardinals took the game and the seven-game Series by a final score of 6-2, while the Rangers ? who don?t have a single World Series title in the history of the franchise ? lost in the championship series for the second consecutive year.
?I?ll definitely rub it in,? Olson said with a laugh.
