Site, time: Allison Field, 7 p.m.
Overview: WACO looks to stay hot after a dominant 52-0 win over Twin Cedars in Week 0. Springville went 6-3 last season.
Moravia (0-0, 0-0) at Winfield-Mount Union (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Winfield-Mount Union High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Winfield-Mount Union is coming off a 4-4 season and brings a boatload of talent back in 2021. Moravia won just one game last year.
Calamus-Wheatland (0-1, 0-0) at No. 9 New London (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: New London High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Calamus-Wheatland took a thumping last week, falling 50-0 to HLV. New London has a lot of preseason hype, getting ranked ninth in Class 8-Player to start the year.
Pekin (0-0, 0-0) at Cardinal (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Cardinal High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: The Comets won the last edition of this fierce rivalry, beating Pekin 38-29 in the playoffs, the first Comet win in the series since 1974.
Louisa-Muscatine (0-0, 0-0) at Columbus (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Columbus Community High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Columbus won a thriller in 2020, coming back in the fourth quarter to beat Louisa-Muscatine 34-28. The Wildcats, however, have lost nine of the last 10 in the series.
East Buchanan (0-0, 0-0) at Highland (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Highland High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Highland won just one game last year, a 55-14 victory over North Cedar. East Buchanan went 3-6 in 2020.
No. 8 Sigourney-Keota (0-0, 0-0) at Durant (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Durant High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: It’s the first game for the Cobras since their magical state run in 2020. They will be playing a Durant team that went 4-4 last season and lost four of its last five games.
Central Lee (0-0, 0-0) at Van Buren County (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Van Buren County High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: It’s a rematch of last year’s Van Buren season opener. The Warriors defeated Central Lee 40-21 in their first game last season but didn’t win a game for the rest of the year. The Hawks went 0-8.
West Burlington (0-0, 0-0) at Mid-Prairie (0-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Mid-Prairie Senior High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: The Golden Hawks dumped West Burlington 35-12 in last year’s game. Mid-Prairie was 4-4 last season including one playoff victory.
