Site, time: HLV Community Schools, 7 p.m.
Overview: WACO looks to go 3-0 after two dominant wins to start the season. It is the district opener for both teams. WACO won last year’s showdown 33-32.
Iowa Valley (1-1, 0-0) at Winfield-Mount Union (2-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Winfield-Mount Union High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: The Wolves host Iowa Valley in an early homecoming game just one week after scoring 84 points last week. Cam Buffington is coming off a game in which he scored 10 touchdowns.
Highland (0-1, 0-0) at Columbus (1-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Columbus Community High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Columbus will be looking to start the season 2-0 after a grinding 9-6 overtime win last week over Louisa-Muscatine. Highland looks for revenge after falling to the Wildcats 49-27 last season.
Alburnett (0-1, 0-0) at Pekin (0-1, 0-0)
Site, time: Pekin Community High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Both squads come into the district opener after a rough outing in Week 1. These two schools will play for the first time since 2011.
Mid-Prairie (1-0, 0-0) at No. 7 (1A) Sigourney-Keota (1-0, 0-0)
Site, time: Sigourney High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Two Union area squads meet after a thriller last season that saw Sigourney-Keota win 27-21 win with an interception in the final minute. Mid-Prairie is coming off a 55-point performance last week.
Van Buren County (1-0, 0-0) at Davis County (0-1, 0-0)
Site, time: Davis County High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Van Buren looks for a second win after a dominant outing in Week 1. The Warriors have been outscored 72-0 in their last two matchups with Davis County.
Cardinal (1-0, 0-0) at Central Lee (0-1, 0-0)
Site, time: Central Lee High School, 7 p.m.
Overview: Cardinal comes into the game after scoring 70 points in the season opener. Central Lee was squashed by Van Buren County last Friday.
