Accolades continue to pour in for Northup
Pekin senior Trenton Northup has gathered more post-season baseball accolades.
After setting Panther school records for batting average in a season (.577) and for a career (.503), Northup has been named the Class 2A first-team all-state catcher by the Iowa Newspaper Association. Teammate and fellow senior Zach Mosbey was given third-team recognition.
Northup was also selected to the first team academic all-state

Pekin senior Trenton Northup has gathered more post-season baseball accolades.
After setting Panther school records for batting average in a season (.577) and for a career (.503), Northup has been named the Class 2A first-team all-state catcher by the Iowa Newspaper Association. Teammate and fellow senior Zach Mosbey was given third-team recognition.
Northup was also selected to the first team academic all-state squad, and is part of a team with an average ACT score of 29 and a GPA of 3.98.
In addition, he has been chosen to play in the Iowa High School Baseball Coach?s Association all-star series as a catcher on the Small School East squad. The series is made up of four teams and will play a round robin tournament Thursday through Sunday at Veterans Memoial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, home of the Class A Cedar Rapids Kernels.
