Adalyn Long tops All-SEC girls basketball selections
Long joined by two second-team All-Conference selections for Demons

Washington led the way in postseason accolades among area girls basketball teams. The Demons had five players earn All-Southeast Conference honors, including one first team selection and a pair of second-teamers.
Adalyn Long represented the Demons on the All-SEC first team. The senior led Washington in scoring at 13.7 points per game and averaged 2.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and two steals.
Long’s teammates Leighton Messinger and Reagan Miller were selected to the All-SEC second team. Addison Miller and Oaklee Sobaski earned All-SEC honorable mention honors.
Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant each had a pair of honorable mention selections. Seniors Faith Jones and Elyse Setterstrom represented the Trojans. Jones averaged 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds this season, while Setterstrom averaged 6.4 points and led Fairfield with 7.2 boards per contest.
MP’s Abby Carthey and Paityn Ensminger both landed on the All-SEC honorable mention list. Carthey tallied 7.7 points 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game this season. Ensminger averaged 6.7 points and 5.7 boards.
Keokuk’s Kendra Boatman was named SEC Player of the Year. The Chiefs won the conference with an 8-2 mark, closely followed by Ft. Madison and Burlington at 7-3.
