CEDAR RAPIDS — Coe College sophomore wrestler at 174 pounds and Washington High School graduate Tristin Westphal-Edwards and eight other Kohawks earned All-Conference recognition from the American Rivers Conference last week.
Westphal-Edwards was ranked 11th going into the national championships but excelled in the wrestle backs to earn a top-8 finish in the weight class. He won three straight matches in the consolation bracket to earn All-American status before falling to the fifth seed in the consolation quarterfinals. Despite wrestling just two matches during the regular season, Westphal-Edwards earned his first all-conference honor.
Coe head coach John Oostendorp was named the Coach of the Year for the third time in his career (2005 and 2008).
