Carter Harmsen helped Mid-Prairie to a second-place finish in the River Valley Conference South Division this season and was one of three players that were unanimous choices for the league's Elite Team. It was the Golden Hawks best finish since a tie for second with West Liberty (both were 9-9) in 2014.
Harmsen averaged 18.3 points per game this season and set the school record for points in a game with 36 at Williamsburg. He scored 32 in a season-ending 67-55 loss to Camanche.
His scoring average was 20th in Class 2A. His field goal percentage of 45 was second in the South Division among those with at least 10 attempts per game. His average of 6.9 rebounds was fourth, 2.5 assists was seventh, 1.1 steals was 19th, 0.8 blocks was sixth, fourth in average free throws attempted at 5.1 and third in free throws made at 3.8. His free throw percentage of 75.2 was second.
The Golden Hawks had two more players selected to the All-South Division team in Aidan Rath and Jack Pennington. Will Cavanagh garnered honorable mention.
