Anderson records 500th strikeout

WINFIELD - It was a rough night with Winfield-Mt. Union softball team on Monday against Louisa-Muscatine, but it was still a historic night. Sophomore starter Madie Anderson picked up the 500th strikeout of her career.
Anderson struck out five batters in a 15-0 loss. She is currently fourth in the state of Iowa with 136 strikeouts on the year, which leads Class 1A.
L&M handed W-MU their fourth loss of the season. The Falcons are the only team that has beaten W-MU in SEISC North Division play.
W-MU will look to bounce back from Monday night's loss with a doubleheader at Mediapolis tonight (Tuesday).
