Anderson, Wolves shut down Cardinal

WINFIELD — Winfield-Mount Union’s Madie Anderson was on her game on Monday night. The Wolves’ fifth-year ace struck 19 batters out in a one-hit shut down against Cardinal.
Anderson’s only hit given up came off the bat of Comet freshman Brinlee Ostrander, who finished the night one-for-three with a single.
The Wolves had their own troubles against Cardinal’s duo of Ava Ferrell and Nicoa McClure. Ferrell gave up just two earned runs over three innings, and McClure game up just one.
Anna Anderson led the Wolves at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Madie Anderson was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
