Archers place second at weekend shoot
It was a big day for the Washington Archery teams on Saturday, as they had all three teams finish in second place in a shoot at Mount Vernon.

It was a big day for the Washington Archery teams on Saturday, as they had all three teams finish in second place in a shoot at Mount Vernon.
The Washington High School team finished 38 points behind meet champion Mount Vernon in its competition, notching 3,218 pounds, led by John Sands and Jade Wells.
Sands placed fifth among all high school boys in the competition, notching a 282, while Wells finished fifth among high school girls with a 277.
Cody Mellinger also earned a Top 10 finish at the meet, placing 10th among high school boys with a 276.
The Washington Middle School team also finished in second place, 124 points behind champion Mount Vernon, with some strong performances.
Johnathan Bartholomew took fourth place among middle school boys with a 276, while Samantha Mellinger finished in third among middle school girls with a 275.
Lane Frana took seventh among middle school boys with a 267.
In the elementary competition, the team finished with a final score of 2,604, finishing only behind tournament champion Mount Vernon.
Allison Rees led the charge, taking the crown in the girls? competition with a 274.
Curtis Stender finished in fourth among the elementary boys with a 258, while Trenton Heisdorffer finished in ninth with a 242.
Washington will host a meet at the middle school on Saturday.
