Archers take top spots, prepare for home shoot
It was a successful weekend for the Washington Archery Program over the weekend, with all three divisions putting in a nice showing.

It was a successful weekend for the Washington Archery Program over the weekend, with all three divisions putting in a nice showing.
Lincoln Elementary took second, finishing 61 points behind host Mount Vernon, while Washington Middle School finished in second place as well.
Washington High School took third overall, finishing 50 points behind first place Mount Vernon and 45 points behind second place Alburnett.
Leading the charge for Lincoln was Olin Wells, who took second place with a score of 257, followed by Kaden Bex?s 244 (sixth place), Hunter Schultz?s 238 (eighth place) and Lane Frana?s 234 (10th place), while Paige Labelle?s 234 was good for fifth for the girls? competition.
The middle school was led by Samantha Reighard, who took 10th place overall for all girls competing (sixth in the middle school girls) with a 268.
Washington High School was led by John Sands, who recorded a 288 (out of 300 possible points, good for second place), and Jade Wells? 285, which won the girls? competition on the day.
Alex Sinn took fourth place in the high school girls? competition with a 279, while Grace Shafer-Smith took sixth with a 274.
Washington will host its next meet at Washington High School, with some of the top archers in Iowa in attendance.
The competition will start at 9 a.m. with Lincoln Elementary shooting at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., while Washington Middle School will shoot at 9 and 10 a.m. and Washington High School will shoot at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. in the main gym.
