Archery team hosts meet

The Washington High School archery team placed first with a team score of 3324. The other team scores were: Mount Vernon 3244 and North Scott 3049.
Samantha Mellinger led the High School Girls' Division with a 293 first place finish. Kylee Porter placed third with a 286, Hannah Frana placed fifth with a 278, and Anna Miller placed seventh with a score of 276.

The Washington High School archery team placed first with a team score of 3324. The other team scores were: Mount Vernon 3244 and North Scott 3049.

In the high school boys? division, Braeden Duwa placed first with a 293, Cody Mellinger placed sixth with a 278, Bryan Martin placed seventh with a 276 and Cooper Reed placed 10th with a 273.
The Washington Middle School team also placed first with a team score of 3209 ahead of Mount Vernon?s score of 3154.
Allison Rees led the middle school girls? division with a first place score of 284. Paige LaBelle placed fourth with a 273, Iris Peterson placed fifth with a 268 and Kenna Rathmell placed eighth with a 261.
In the boys? middle school division, Brian Fritz placed third with a 268, Curtis Stender placed fourth with a 268, Bryce DeWolf placed fifth with a 266 and Landon Messer placed sixth with a 263.
Lincoln Elementary shot their highest team score of the season with a 2636 and placed second behind Mount Vernon?s score of 2737.
In the elementary girls? division, Sammy Jo Helfrich placed first with a 242, Madison Conway placed third with a 228 and Nikole Hall placed fifth with a 221.
Cashden Pepper led the elementary boys? division with his 231, 10th place finish. Andy LaBelle placed 11th with a 228 and Gatlin Nash placed 13th with a 221.
The first set of state rankings appeared this week and the three teams are doing well.
The high school is ranked third, the middle school is ranked first and the elementary school is ranked fifth in their divisions respectively.
All individual and team results can be viewed at nasptournaments.org. Washington?s next tournament is Jan. 27 at Cardinal in Eldon.
