Highland girls basketball and Hillcrest Academy boys basketball will be the top seeds for the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North at this year’s SEISC Shootout. The Huskies and Ravens both finished first in the division and will face the best team from the SEISC South on Saturday.
The Huskies achieved their first place finish in historic fashion. Highland’s 63-59 double-overtime win over Louisa-Muscatine secured a 19-2 regular season, including a 16-0 record in conference play, the first undefeated SEISC campaign in program history.
Highland’s SEISC Shootout opponent is Class 3A No. 9 Mediapolis. The Huskies will host a Bulldogs team that not only didn’t drop a conference game, but is yet to lose this season.
On the boys side, Hillcrest finished 15-1 in conference play with a lone defeat to Pekin. The Ravens repeated as champions of the North division after a 14-2 campaign last season.
Hillcrest will face 1A No. 3 Burlington Notre Dame in the SEISC Shootout. The Nikes are 19-1 and 14-0 in the SEISC South.
Here are the full pairings for the SEISC boys and girls shootouts.
