Area Bowling: Mt. Pleasant girls, Fairfield boys notch SEC wins

Four area bowling teams were in action on Thursday afternoon, as both Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield took on Southeast Conference foes.
The Panther girls and Trojan boys picked up wins on the day, as the Union area went 2-2 overall.

Mt. Pleasant 2,318, Burlington 1,687 (girls)
The Panthers girls had no trouble with visiting Burlington at Iris Bowling Center. The team was led by Addison McGehearty, who rolled a 341, including a high game of 171.
Tori Hixson finished the day at 317. Kylie Alldredge rolled 316. Bethany Drury finished at 309, including a 192, which was the highest game in the competition.
Kya Goodrich rolled 291 for the Panthers. Cayla Burns finished at 265.
Burlington 2,764, Mt. Pleasant 2,715
After losing by one pin against Fairfield in its last SEC dual, the Panther boys fell by just 49 against the Grayhounds.
Alec Payne had the hot hand for Mt. Pleasant, scoring a 437, including an incredible 233 for his high game. Jonathan Fortin and Christian Bracht-Wagner each rolled 382.
Henry Pforts finished at 342 for the Panther boys. Kyle Benacka rolled a 304, and Joseph Rheinschmidt finished at 298.
Fairfield 2,566, Keokuk 2,367 (Boys)
Fairfield stayed atop the SEC boys bowling standings with a win over Keokuk, knocking the Chiefs down to second place by one game in the loss column.
Ethan Cass rolled a 409, including the day’s highest game, at 219. Ian Aplara rolled a 397.
Dayson Workman rolled 329, and Dylan Adam finished at 306 to give the Trojans four bowlers over 300. Chase Johnston rolled a 299, and Dalton Drish scored a 275.
Keokuk 2,811, Fairfield 2,038 (Girls)
The Trojans couldn’t keep up with the still unbeaten Keokuk girls, despite a big day from Rae Ehret, who scored 389, including a high game of 200.
Elizabeth Hootman scored 269 for the Trojan girls. Kiara Bickham rolled a 258. Grace Forrest finished at 239. Nicole Robb rolled 228, and Eleanore Houston scored 187.
