Area bowling: Panthers sweep, Demons fall

It was a successful end of the week for the Mt. Pleasant bowling teams, who each scooped up a win over West Burlington. Meanwhile, Washington was tagged with a pair of Southeast Conference losses at Burlington High.
Mt. Pleasant girls 2,266, West Burlington 1,703
Mt. Pleasant had the Top-4 bowlers in the contest as the Panthers ran past West Burlington at home.
Eden Svoboda led Mt. Pleasant with a 335. Addison McGehearty rolled 313. Tori Hixson finished at 312, and Bethany Drury hit 304.
Abby Anderson was the fifth-best Panther on the day, rolling a 242. Airianna Taylor finished at 199.
Mt. Pleasant boys 2,591, West Burlington 2,104
Much like the girls’ team, the Panther boys swept the Top-4 spots against the visiting Falvons.
Cole Wohlleber was the only bowler over 400, shooting a 406. Jonathan Fortin rolled a 380. Alec Payne went for 337, and Nolan Myers finished at 333.
Henry Pforts gave Mt. Pleasant another above-300 score, with a 309. Aiden Adams rolled a 263.
Burlington 2,833, Washington boys 2,438
Another fantastic outing by Ethan Zieglowsky wasn’t enough to lift Washington over Burlington on the road. Zieglowsky put up a score of 470 in the loss.
Quentin Howard was the second Demon on the list, rolling 372. Caleb Zieglowsky finished at 352. Cole Anderson bowled 284, and Ismat Abdurahimov finished at 197.
Burlington 1,819, Washington 10,62
Washington brought three girls to bowl against Burlington. Leigha Heisdorffer led the way with a 259, barely edging out Tatum Peterson, who scored 285. Emma Choneweth ended the meet at 218.
