Fairfield boys nip Mt. Pleasant in closest dual yet

It has been a busy few days on the high school bowling scene, and among other results, the Fairfield boys’ team scored a one-pin win over rival Mt. Pleasant.
Fairfield 2,490, Mt. Pleasant 2,489 (Boys)
The Trojans nipped the Panthers on Thursday in an incredible one-pin matchup between a couple of old rivals.
The Trojans were led by Ethan Cass, who rolled a 379 on the day. Dalton Drish finished at 350. Ian Aplara rolled a 336. Dylan Adam finished at 318. Dayson Workman rolled a 299, and Chase Johnston finished at 289.

Mt. Pleasant’s Christian Bracth-Wagner was the top bowler overall on the day, rolling a 391. Jonathan Fortin finished at 336. Henry Pforts rolled a 316. Alec Payne finished at308. Joseph Rheinschmidt finished at 287, and Xachary Lablanc finished at 271.
Mt. Pleasant 2,196, Fairfield 1,842
The Panthers rolled on the girls’ side, partially thanks to top scorer Addison McGehearty, who put up 327 to lead all bowlers.
Bethany Drury shot a 295 for the Panthers. Kylie Alldredge shot a 293. Kya Goodrich finished at 260. Cayla Burns ended at 252, and Tori Hixson finished at 251.
Fairfield’s Elizabeth Hootman rolled a 294. Kiara Bickham finished at 268. Rae Ehret rolled a 257. Nicole Rob shot a 231. Grace Forrest finished at 196, and Eleanore Houston shot a 182.
Washington takes 3rd in Keokuk
The Demon boys and girls traveled to Keokuk on Tuesday for a triangular with the hosting Chiefs, and West Burlington.
The boys rolled a 1,337, which was just behind West Burlington’s 1,493 for second. Keokuk won with 2,539.
Gabriel Castillo led the Demons with a 284. Cooper Zahs finished at 222. Quintyn Garibay ended at 216, and Kevler Lopez rolled a 176.
The girls’ team, which had just three bowlers going, finished at 910. Keokuk won, with 2,758, and West Burlington scored a 1,493.
Emma Chenoweth rolled a 253 for the Demons. Emma Loeffler finished at 188, and Brittany Diveney rolled a 176.
Louisa-Muscatine 3,292, Mt. Pleasant 2,672 (Boys)
The Panther boys traveled to take on Louisa-Musactine on Monday, and high scores weren’t enough to out-dual the Falcons, who had four bowlers above 425.
Payne led the Panthers with a 419. Fortin rolled a 392. Rheinschmidt finished at 283. Kyle Benacka rolled a 326. Bracht-Wagner finished at 274, and Pforts rolled a 248.
Louisa-Muscatine 2,932, Mt. Pleasant 2,456 (Girls)
The Panther girls shot well but much like the boys, they were unable to reach the level of a talented Falcons team.
Hixson shot a 368 to lead Mt. Pleasant in the loss. Drury finished at 350. McGehearty rolled 334. Burns finished at 325. Goodrich shot 265, and Alldredge finished at 243.
