Area golfers compete in Mt. Pleasant
Panthers, Demons and Trojans go 2-3-4

MT. PLEASANT — Southeast Conference girls’ golf teams went at it on Monday at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club. It was another close meet, as all five teams were separated by just 29 total strokes.
Keokuk outlasted the field by nine strokes, scoring 208 to take home first place. Mt. Pleasant finished second, with a 217.
Fort Madison nipped Washington for third place, outshooting the Demons 225-232. Fairfield finished just behind Washington with a 237, for fifth.
Mt. Pleasant’s second-place finish featured two golfers in the Top-10. Kylie Walderbach ended the meet tied for second, with a 48, and Sophia Walderbach tied for seventh, with a 54.
Felicity Metcalf shot 56 for the Panthers. Vivian Cornell ended at 59. Elaina Holtkamp shot 61, and Ashlynn Beachaump ended the tournament at 69.
Washington’s Maci Williams took fourth overall, shooting 51 to lead the Demons. The next Washington score was Natalie Prochaska, who finished at 57.
Lauren Hinrichsen shot 58 for tee Demons. Lucy Sands shot 66, and Reagan Stouder ended at 70.
Fairfield was paced by Savannah Hollander, who shot 56 to lead the way. Lucy Kuehl wasn’t far behind her, shooting 57, and Ella Bentler ended the tournament at 58.
Olivia Hollander shot 66 for the Trojans. Addison Qualters ended at 77.
Both Washington and Fairfield had just one golfer present.
