Area golfers perform well in tournament
Two area youth golfers have been performing well during the Iowa Junior PGA golf event earlier this week.
The Southeast Iowa Junior at The Preserve took place at Rathbun Lake in Moravia Monday, July 31, with head PGA professional Darin Fisher and assistant professional Ben Splichal assisting the golfers.

Two area youth golfers have been performing well during the Iowa Junior PGA golf event earlier this week.
The Southeast Iowa Junior at The Preserve took place at Rathbun Lake in Moravia Monday, July 31, with head PGA professional Darin Fisher and assistant professional Ben Splichal assisting the golfers.
In the boys 14-15 division, Noah Schlabaugh from Kalona took first place, going three strokes over par for a 75 (37 38)
He finished three strokes ahead of Luke Galeazzi from Knoxville and four ahead of Michael Chase from Waukee.
Anna Nacos from Washington finished the girls 14-15 division in second place, going 18 strokes over par with a 90 (47 43), and was one stroke behind winner Madison Schrack from Grinnell.
Tying for third place was Meghan Doherty from Urbandale and Lirui Guo from Washington, both going 23 strokes over par with a 95.
