Four Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division games were played on Tuesday night, and every single one of them went to a Union area squad.
Listed below are the results of the area’s small school basketball games from the first full night of conference play.
Winfield-Mt. Union 78, Louisa-Muscatine 40
The Wolves dominated the Falcons in the SEISC North Division opener, thanks in large part to 51 total points between juniors Isaac Egli and Cody Milks.
Egli put up 26 in his first game in a W-MU uniform. Milks scored 25 points, and collected nine steals. Max Edwards flirted with a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Pekin 54, Wapello 37
The Panthers pulled away from the Indians in the second half, outscoring Wapello 34-20 in the final two quarters to start conference play 1-0.
Hillcrest Academy 68, Highland 39
Despite a 17-point night from Highland’s Jacob Schneider, the Hillcrest Academy boys rolled to a North Division victory. The Ravens were up 23-11 after one quarter and 36-20 at halftime, and Highland was unable to win any of the four quarters.
Columbus 64, Lone Tree 55
The Columbus boys started the year 1-1 with a home win over the visiting Lions.
Keota 62, Belle Plaine 29
The Eagles used a balanced attack to knock off Belle Plaine in a runaway.
Blake Baker scored 18 points to lead Keota. Porter Cave finished with 16 points, and Jackson Vitetoe put in 15.
West Burlington 51, New London 30
The Falcons were too much for the Tigers in a SEISC South clash. West Burlington led 25-10 at halftime, and New London couldn’t win a quarter, despite playing the Falcons within six points in the final two.
Notre Dame 92, Van Buren County 48
The Warriors couldn’t run with a stacked Notre Dame squad, falling in the SEISC South opener.
Kinnick Millard led Van Buren County with 14 points in the loss. Landdry Loeffler added 13.
