Highland 17, Lone Tree 2
The Huskies piled up the runs in Lone Tree, including a seven-run seventh to race past the rival Lions.
Katie Herrig was 4-for-5 with two RBIs in the win. MyLei Smith was 2-for-5 with three RBIs, and Grace Batcheller gave up just two unearned runs over seven innings.
Mediapolis 12, Winfield-Mount Union 6
The Wolves lost a tough one as Mediapolis entered the top of seventh trailing 5-4, but scored eight runs in their final at-bat to steal a North Division game.
WMU rallied for one run in the seventh, but the Wolves couldn’t make up the deficit. The loss snapped an eight-game win streak for WMU in the series.
Hillcrest Academy 12, Danville 0
The Ravens walloped Danville in a game previously set to be played last month. Hillcrest Academy made it a quick trip for the visiting Bears, beating them in three innings.
Louisa-Muscatine 6, Columbus 3
The Wildcats put up a good fight in a SEISC North Division battle against first-place Louisa-Muscatine.
Libby White and Victoria Howell each had an RBI in the loss. Sera Vela went 2-for-4, and Lily Coil and Bailey Rice each saw time in the circle.
Cardinal 7, New London 1
The Comets won their third-straight game overall and fourth-straight in South Division play. Ava Ferrell was fantastic in the circle, throwing a complete-game one-hitter.
Caitlyn Reber went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Comets. Brinlee Ostrander Emma Becker each knocked in two runs, and both Maddy Lawson and Riley Bears went 2-for-3 with a double.
Marlianna Woodsmall was 1-for-3 with New London’s only RBI. She also threw a complete game in the circle, giving up five runs (four earned).
West Burlington 15, Van Buren County 5
The Warriors made it five innings with the South Division leading Falcons, but West Burlington stayed undefeated in conference play.
Van Buren County made a little run, getting three runs off West Burlington ace Lauren Smmers in the bottom of the second, which cut the lead to 9-3, but West Burlington scored the next four runs.
MId-Prairie 7, Anamosa 0
The Golden Hawks have now won five-straight games after a skunking at Anamosa.
Mid-Prairie has now won nine games on the season already. One more win would give the Golden Hawks their highest win total since 2017.
North Mahaska 15, Keota 0
Keota’s offense continued to struggle in a South Iowa Cedar League home game. The Eagles have now lost 11-straight.
