Area runners earn conference marks
The Southeast Iowa Super Conference held its annual conference meet on Thursday night, which highlighted four area teams in competition.
The SEISC meet was hosted by Burlington, Notre Dame, with multiple area runners earning all-conference honors.
Pekin swept both the girls? and boys? team competitions, with all five of their counting scores (on both teams) finishing in the top 10.

The Southeast Iowa Super Conference held its annual conference meet on Thursday night, which highlighted four area teams in competition.
The SEISC meet was hosted by Burlington, Notre Dame, with multiple area runners earning all-conference honors.
Pekin swept both the girls? and boys? team competitions, with all five of their counting scores (on both teams) finishing in the top 10.
Iowa Mennonite
On the night, Iowa Mennonite?s Levi Geyer was the top male finisher from the area, earning an eighth-place finish.
Geyer ran the 5,000-meter course in 18:15 to lead his squad in the event, with Jacob Boller the next runner for IMS with a 51st-place run (20:36).
Micah Miller (69th, 22:17), Jesse Slater (76th, 23:00) and Seth Danga (83rd, 23:37) rounded out the varsity team on the night, as IMS took 12th as a team in the event.
On IMS? girls? side, Calli Shaw posted a personal best on the day with a time of 23:00, earning all-conference honors with a 14th-place finish.
Sarena Gerber claimed 50th place with a 27:41, Rachel Geyer finished in 57th (28:59), Greta Schrag was 61st (29:58) and Ainsley Shaw posted a 39:09 for 68th overall.
The IMS girls took eighth overall as a team.
Columbus
Columbus? Janessa Carpenter posted her top time of the season on Thursday night, with a 22:12, good for ninth-place overall and an all-conference spot.
The Columbus junior led the girls? team, while sophomore Aubrey Duncan finished in 41st overall with a 26:10.
On the boys? side, Columbus was led by Marc Estrada, who posted a 33rd-place finish, with a 19:45 on the night.
Hunter Humiston finished the night in 36th (19:50), while Armando Quiroz took 41st (20:12).
Erick Cantarerro finished the race in 54th, posting a 20:56, Chepo Cardenas ran a 20:59 which put him in 57th and James Rivera posted a 59th-place finish with a 21:14.
The Columbus boys? team finished in ninth place.
Highland
Highland saw Caleb Brase claim an all-conference slot on the day, posting a time of 19:00 en route to a 14th-place finish.
Josh Brand had a 49th-place finish with a 20:33, Bryan Redlinger took 55th with a 21:38, Luke Van Schoyck had a 74th-place finish with a 22:53 and Nic Rath took 75th with a time of 22:58. Nathan Butler had a time of 25:28 to take 90th.
The boys? team finished in 10th-place overall.
On the girls? side of the meet, Highland was led by Zoe Mahler, who posted a 24:38 on the night, good for a 27th-place finish.
Kate McFarland posted a 43rd-place finish with a 26:30, while Emily Yahnke finished in 47th with a 27:26 and Alli Brand had a 28:39 for 53rd.
WACO
The WACO girls? team finished the conference meet with a ninth-place team score, led by Kasey Sutton who posted a 28:58 for a 56th-place finish.
Makenzie Shelman finished in 64th (32:39), Kanon Ujiie finished in 65th (32:43) and Emily Thomson took 66th (34:13) for the Warriors, while Katie Mallow finished in 69th with a 39:25.
The WACO boys were led by John Skriver, who posted a 48th-place finish at the conference meet, running a time of 20:28, while Joe Edeker took 82nd with a 23:33, Tanner Conwell took 87th (23:57) and Roman Kiefer posted an 89th-place finish (24:51).
