Highland, WACO compete in Riverside on Monday
There were multiple area track meets this week, with area teams competing well in the final weeks of the regular season.
On Monday, the Highland Huskies hosted their annual meet, with 16 teams in attendance.
Mid-Prairie swept the boys? and girls? meet titles, while Highland took fourth in the girls? meet, followed by WACO who took seventh.

Highland, WACO compete in Riverside on Monday
There were multiple area track meets this week, with area teams competing well in the final weeks of the regular season.
On Monday, the Highland Huskies hosted their annual meet, with 16 teams in attendance.
Mid-Prairie swept the boys? and girls? meet titles, while Highland took fourth in the girls? meet, followed by WACO who took seventh.
Highland finished third in the boys? meet, with WACO taking fourth.

Highland?s girls? team had multiple second-place individual finishes, stemming from a couple of athletes.
Aly Stokes took second in the long jump and high jump, while Bailey Harmston also took second in the high jump, while finishing in second in the 400-meter hurdles. Kelsey Hora claimed second in the 400-meter dash.
Highland?s sprint medley relay team of Sarah Schneider, Emilee Thomann, Erin Simon and Hora claimed first at the meet. The 4x400-meter relay team of Stokes, Hora, Murphy Beinhart and Sydney Black finished in second place.
On the boys? side of the meet, Billy Burton took first place in the long jump, while Keiffer Sexton claimed the 1600- and 3200-meter run titles at the event.
Spencer Wieland claimed fourth in the 100-meter dash, while Jake Wood claimed fourth in the 400-meter dash.
The Highland boys? distance medley team of Burton, Sexton, Chase Rath and Trey Lasek also claimed a meet title on the day.
For WACO, Kasey Sutton took second in the 100-meter hurdles while Mayme Hinh took fourth in the girls? discus and shot put events
In the relays, McKenna White, Clara Schmitz, Kiana Miller and Kasey Sutton took first in the shuttle hurdle relay, and Sutton, Halle Kissell, Miller and Angel Frier claimed first in the 4x100-meter relay.
Beau Beckler, Jorge Chacon, Colton Horak and Bryce Achen took first in the boys? shuttle hurdle relay.
Achen took first in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and second in the 110-meter hurdles, while Horak took third in the 400-meter hurdles.
Huskie, Warrior girls run at WACO Relays on Tuesday
On Tuesday, the WACO girls hosted their own six-team meet, with Highland coming down for the day.
Highland took second at the meet, finishing only behind Mediapolis, while WACO claimed fourth at their home meet.
Highland swept the long jump competition, with Cheyann Adamson and Stokes taking first and second place respectively. Bailey Harmston claimed first place in the high jump and second place in the 100-meter hurdles.
Highland also won the distance medley relay, 4x200-meter relay, sprint medley relay and 4x100-meter relay at the meet.
WACO was led by Frier?s first-place finish in the 100-meter dash, and Hinh?s second-place finishes in the discus and shot put.
Sutton claimed first in the 100-meter hurdles, and helped the shuttle hurdle relay team to a meet title. WACO also took second in the 4x100-meter relay.
Columbus hosts coed meet on Tuesday
Columbus hosted its own meet on Tuesday afternoon, with 13 teams in attendance.
The Columbus boys finished in third place, while the girls claimed second place at the meet.
In the boys? side of the meet, Mauricio Ramirez claimed first place in the long jump, and third in the 100-meter dash.
Abel Mena claimed second place in the 200-meter dash.
Josh Keller claimed third in the 3200-meter run, and fourth in the 1600.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Ruben Paz, Devon Henry, Mena and Ramirez claimed the meet title, while the same team picked up second in the 4x100-meter relay.
Henry, Tommy Pretz, Mena and Carter Colby took second in the 4x400-meter relay.
On the girls? side of the meet, Shania Boyd claimed meet victories in the long jump, 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles.
Patty Rojas claimed second in the shot put for the Wildcats, and Monaye Matthews took second in the 200-meter dash.
Boyd also helped the team of Anna Hamilton, Monaye Matthews, Angie Byas claim the shuttle hurdle relay title, while the 4x200-meter relay team of Courtney Zaehringer, Denise Perez, Byas and Matthews claimed second.
Courney Zaehringer, Denise Perez, Byas and Matthews were meet title winners in the 4x100-meter relay.
