KEOKUK - Washington lost its first Southeast Conference volleyball match Tuesday, falling at Keokuk 3-2 by scores of 17-25, 25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 16-14.
Addison Six connected on 15 kills an Hannah Anderson had five kills while Washington (6-9, 2-1) teammate Kaitlyn Mitchell got to 17 digs. Kinsey Duwa had 23 assists.
COLUMBUS JUNCTION - The 15th-ranked Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team has now won 10 of its last 12 games. The Wolves won Tuesday, sweeping Columbus 25-18, 25-13 and 25-8.
Jenna Buffington continued to dominate in front of the net. She finished the night with 21 kills in 39 attempts for a .462 kill efficiency. She also finished second on the team in digs (seven), blocks (two) and aces (four).
Melina Oepping had a big night as well. She finished the day with eight kills and three blocks.
Kayla Edwards finished the night with 27 assists. Kyndal Townsley had 17 digs, and also led the squad with seven aces.
Kayla Beenen and Victoria Howell coled Columbus with three kills apiece. Beenen led the defense with nine digs.
Taylor Howell had eight assists for the Wildcats. Kylee Wheeler finished the night with eight digs.
W-MU is now 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the SEISC North Division. They'll host Highland today.
Columbus fell to 3-11 and hosts Mediapolis today.
DONNELLSON - It was a career night for WACO senior Laney Graber despite the Warriors' loss to Central Lee. Graber reached the 1,000 career assists mark in the four-set loss.
The Warriors lost the match 25-13, 16-25, 25-21, 25-11 to fall to 8-3 overall this season. Graber finished the game with 26 assists.
Ellie Miles led the Warriors with 11 kills in the loss. Lona Farrier had five kills. Aubri Garnsey finished with 20 assists.
WACO will look to bounce back in a home game against Danville today.
WELLMAN - Mid-Prairie lost to top-ranked Tipton Tuesday, 25-11, 25-12, 25-9 to fall to 4-3.
Myah Luger had seven digs and two kills for the Golden Hawks.
Winfield-Mt. Union over Columbus. Columbus got three kills each from Victoria Howell and Kayla Beenen. Taylor Howell had eight assists.
Taylor Kindred had three kills with a block while Keota teammate Macie McDonald got five digs.
MARENGO - Iowa Valley took a 25-15, 25-10, 25-10 win from visiting Keota Monday.
'As a team, we still have room to improve on how we work together on the court,” Keota coach Sky Hahn said. 'The girls continue to work daily on our communication with each other and building trust. A team strength we rally around is serving. The girls continue to minimize serving errors and increase successes and aces. As seen from the game last night, we want to continue to have our blockers get a hand on the ball and furthermore, receiving a block.”
