Lisa Brinkmeyer is the Assistant Director of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union overseeing Volleyball, Golf, and Tennis and is also a member of the IGHSAU Hall of Fame. She was a standout basketball player at Hubbard-Radcliffe High School and Drake University. She is the definition of an “Iowa Girl.”
Lisa was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer last spring and is currently going through a treatment plan and is definitely a fighter. Brinkmeyer has brought Iowa High School volleyball to the next level and fully supports the “Iowa Girl.” Right now, Lisa is fighting the toughest fight of her life, in her journey with brain cancer.
Coaches and volleyball families from the SEISC are coming together to support Lisa on September 13th in their regular season conference games. Here is a list of the games.
For the north:
Highland @ Columbus
Lone Tree @ Wapello
Hillcrest Academy @ Winfield-Mt. Union

Pekin @ WACO (Sept 15th)
For the south:

Danville @ West Burlington
New London @ Van Buren

Anywear Apparel in Mt. Pleasant has designed T-shirts in each team’s school colors. T-shirts are available for purchase online at https://anywearmp.com/collections/brinks-bench. All profits from the shirt sales will go to Lisa and her family. SEISC Coaches challenge the fans to fill the stands with your team’s T-shirts during these games and show the IGHSAU what the small towns in Southeast Iowa are all about.
