Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk is grateful to everyone who participated in this year?s ?Rhythm and Art?-themed art walk. We had an awesome turnout on the square and once again were blessed with lovely weather. We had a superb lineup of music starting with the Art Walk Buskers. June?s Buskers included: Frank Cenatori, Robert Reeder, Taylor Ross, Tim Britton and Micah Salaberrios. For those of you who are not familiar with the Art Walk Buskers, they are individual performers who set up at various points around the square and perform solo.
Following the Buskers, attendees grooved to East of Omaha and danced to the blues of Bob Dorr and The Blue Band. Special thanks go to art walk board members Mark Soth and Keith DeBoer, who tirelessly put in time coordinating the great musical lineup. We also want to thank Rustin Lippincott for providing the stage and setup for Bob Dorr and The Blue Band. We also had some great live art demonstrations by Blue Fish Clothing, Pure Imagination Tattoos and caricature artist David Ayala.
A HUGE thank you goes to our June Event Sponsor, French Reneker Associates. They are a local surveying and engineering company celebrating their 60th anniversary. As a means of giving back to the community, they became the June art walk sponsor. Their contribution to art walk has and will allow us to bring to Fairfield the creative fun and magic that our city has become accustomed to on art walk nights.
We also want to share our gratitude to all the volunteers that came to help and support art walk last Friday. We are grateful to all the adults: Steve Winslow, Jake Story, Charles Brader, Kent Rice, Kathy Peck, John Freeberg, Mary J Russel, youth community service volunteers: Kilee, Cole, Alena, Nicole, Reyna, and Miranda who made the Kid?s Korner a blast last Friday and friends of art walk that showed up to help. We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of activities in the summer months. This is a great opportunity for individuals, service organizations and businesses to come and support our community by making these events bigger and better. So please don?t be shy, contact us and volunteer!
We also implemented a new way to organize vendors and it is because of the donation of time and materials by Dan Loftus, Fairfield Lumber and Fairfield Park and Rec that we were able to do this.
A final thanks goes out to all of the businesses that are sponsoring and supporting art walk. We are continuing to move closer to our fundraising goal. We encourage local companies and individuals to keep supporting art walk because when you support art walk you are supporting the entire community.
Last but not least, Fairfield 1st Fridays Art Walk wants to thank the community as a whole for attending this art walk and all other art walk events. Without your community support, art walk would not be what it is.
