KEOSAUQUA - The William Penn University women are one of the best basketball teams in Iowa, and they added another key piece earlier this month with the signing of Van Buren County senior Madison Bartholomew.
Bartholomew, the third-leading scorer for VBC signed her letter of intent to attend and play for William Penn, surrounded by family and coaches.
Bartholomew is scoring 8.5 points per game for the Warriors. She has hit 36 3-pointers on the year, which is secodn on the team, and also leads the team with 107 assists.
She will join Statesmen squad that is currently 19-5 overall and 15-4 in conference play.
Before thinking too much about college, though, Bartholomew and the VBC girls have some business to attend to on the high school hardwood. VBC hosts Louisa-Muscatine in a regional tournament game tonight in Keosauqua.
