Baseball playoffs preview
With the softball season officially over for all area teams, the focus now turns to baseball.
With a postponement on Saturday, Mid-Prairie had to wait an extra two days to kick off the postseason action, playing on Monday night against Central Lee at home.

With the softball season officially over for all area teams, the focus now turns to baseball.
With a postponement on Saturday, Mid-Prairie had to wait an extra two days to kick off the postseason action, playing on Monday night against Central Lee at home.
Should the Hawks win, they will stay at home and play West Burlington on Tuesday night.
On the other side of the Class 2A District 10 bracket, Columbus saw its season end in a forfeit to West Branch.
In Class 1A, District 9 action, three other area teams will be in action starting on Tuesday.
Keota hosts English Valleys at 7 p.m., and would host a potential second game on Thursday against either Pekin or Tri-County.
On the other side of the bracket, Highland and Iowa Mennonite will battle each other on Tuesday night in Lone Tree, with the winner of that game facing the winner of Lone Tree and Sigourney at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Highland and Iowa Mennonite met twice this year, with the Huskies sweeping the season series with wins of 18-4 and 2-1.
Caleb Brase earned the victory in both games, allowing three earned runs, 10 hits and striking out 10 in 11 innings pitched.
Washington will get its postseason started on Friday when it travels to face Williamsburg.
