Baseball rankings: Mid-Prairie at 7, New London 9

Week No. 6 of the season brings the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches latest rankings. New London, ranked ninth in Class 1A, remains the only unbeaten team among all four classes of the Top 10 teams.
Mid-Prairie stayed at No. 7 in Class 2A.
Southeast Conference member Fort Madison is No. 10 in 3A.
Both New London (. 390) and Mid-Prairie (. 357) have the second-best team batting average in the respective class.
New London is 14th in 1A with 253 total bases. Mid-Prairie is 14th in 2A with 85 stolen bases and fifth in home runs (10) with Aidan Rath’s nine leading the state. Rath’s slugging percentage of 1.088 is third in 2A.
New London’s team is strong at the plate and in the field. It has the fewest team strikeouts of any Class 1A team at 52, second has 66 and third is 80. Its slugging percentage is .567, second in 1A. The Tigers have made a collective 22 errors, which is third and they are fielding at a .949 percentage, which is fifth in the class.
