Baseball roundup: Fairfield wins third straight
Trojans and Eagles pick up victories in Wednesday night action

Fairfield 10, Chariton 3
It didn’t take Fairfield long to take control of the game against Chariton on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first inning the Trojans went on to bring a pair of runs home in the second.
Tate Allen and Landon Nodurft both notched RBIs scoring Aiden Westercamp and Voss Richardson.
The scoring only got better for Fairfield from then on out.
They went on to add three additional runs as Tallon Bates scored on a past ball and Richardson and Aidan Kreuter scored Westercamp and Cody Birlson.
Chariton got one run in their half of the inning as well.
Fairfield topped their third frame with four more runs in the top half of the fourth as an error scored Allen and a Caden Allison double scored Nodurft.
Two batters later and Birlson doubled to score Allison and Westercamp.
Fairfield went scoreless through the fifth and sixth, while the Chargers brought two across the plate in the fifth.
The Trojans added one final run in the seventh as Kreuter notched an RBI scoring Westercamp.
Nodurft and Allison both went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Trojans. Kreuter, Allen and Westercamp all had a hit. Kreuter ended with two RBIs and Allen had one.
Birlson finished with two RBIs as well.
Dain Burkhart pitched a complete game for Fairfield.
Burkhart gave up three runs (one earned) on six hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
Fairfield moves to 6-4 on the season and is on a three game win streak.
Keota 12, English Valleys 9
Keota scored 11 runs in the first four innings on Wednesday against English Valleys.
The Eagles led 11-4 heading into the fifth and never looked back.
The Bears won the final three innings, outscoring Keota 6-1, but the lead proved to be enough for the Eagles.
Evan Vittetoe finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the win.
Aiden McGuire went 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Dalton Dodd finished with a pair of RBIs as well.
Aidan Anderson, Cole Kindred and Chase Sieren each finished with one RBI.
Billie Kindred, McGuire and Caleb Waterhouse all threw for the Eagles.
The trio combined allowed six hits, nine runs (five earned), four walks and nine strikeouts.
Central Lee 18, New London 6
New London trailed Central Lee by just one after the first inning, but the Tigers wouldn’t score again for over three frames.
During that span the Hawks went on to score two in the third and brought nine runs home in the fourth.
The Tigers scored three themselves in the bottom of the fifth, but Central Lee closed it out with three of its own in the sixth.
Tate Welcher went 2-for-2 in the game with three RBIs for New London.
Memphis Watson finished 2-for-4. Kye Reighard notched an RBI while going 1-for-2.
Nicholas Powell and Cale Westerbeck all tallied a hit as well.
Gavin Menke-Bailey pitched 2.2 innings, giving up nine hits, 10 runs (three earned) and one strikeout.
Powell threw 3.1 innings giving up eight run (six earned) on six hits and two strikeouts.
