Baseball roundup: Highland still hot

A handful of small school baseball games stood tall through a rainy night in Southeast Iowa. Area teams lived in the double digits as Highland, Pekin and New London all battered the ball on Monday night.
Highland 11, Columbus/WMU 5
Highland moved to 8-1 with yet another win in Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division play.
Luke Miller went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Chase Schultz was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and also picked up the win on the mound.
Pekin 13, Lone Tree 1
The Panthers pounded the Lions in a SEISC North showdown.
Chase Stansberry threw a three-hit shutout, striking out 11 batters. Colton Comstock was 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and both Sven Dahlstrom and Jackson Horras knocked in two.
No. 4 (1A) New London 19, Notre Dame 4
Unbeaten New London put the paws on Notre Dame, blistering their rivals by 15 runs.
Kooper Schulte was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Camden Kasel went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Tucker Gibbar had a double and two RBIs. Dereck Santiago finished with a double and one RBI, and Josh Catala earned the win on the mound.
