Baseball roundup: Hillcrest’s streak moves to six

No. 2 (Class 2A) Mid-Prairie 7, Regina Catholic 0
Mid-Prairie scored four in the second, one in the fourth and two more in the sixth in the shutout win over Regina on Thursday.
Karson Grout had two hits and one RBI to lead the Golden Hawks.
Camron Pickard finished with a hit and two RBIs.
Cain Brown, Dylan Henry and Brock Harland had hits as well.
Brown, Alex Bean and Landry Gingerich had RBIs too.
Bean threw six innings for the Golden Hawks allowing one hit with nine strikeouts.
No. 2 (Class 2A) Mid-Prairie 16, Treynor 2
Mid-Prairie scored in all but two innings against Treynor on Saturday.
Karson Grout led the Golden Hawks going 4-for-5 at the plate with a whopping six RBIs.
Cain Brown, Alex Bean and Joe Hall all ended with a pair of hits. Brown and Bean each had two RBIs.
Blake Swart finished with three RBIs as well. Brady Weber and Brock Harland each had one.
Van Buren County 18, Danville 3
Van Buren County dominated Danville on Friday.
Anthony Duncan had a team-high four RBIs with three hits in the game.
Taylor Sprouse, Tyler Stoltz and Izaak Loeffler all had two RBIs.
Lucas Fett ended with four hits and one RBI.
Hillcrest Academy 9, Pekin 2
Hillcrest Academy led Pekin 3-1 after the first frame on Thursday.
The Ravens added six more in the fifth to pull way.
Grant Bender had a team high three RBIs in the game.
Liam Schrock and Luke Schrock both had two hits in the game. Luke Schrock had an RBI as well.
Seth Ours had a hit and two RBIs. Jace Rempel ended with a hit. Phoenix Anderson had a hit and two RBIs.
Seth Ours won on the mound with two runs given up (zero earned) on five hits and seven strikeouts.
Hudson VanEnglenhoven had two hits for the Panthers. Cade Parmenter, Levi Coleman and Sven Dahlstrom each had one.

Hillcrest Academy scored 10 runs in the first two innings and five between the third and fourth for the victory on Friday.

Jace Rempel and Josiah Beachy both had two hits and two RBIs as well.
Liam Schrock notched two hits too.
Rowan Miller took the victory on the hill giving up two hits with six strikeouts.
Hillcrest Academy 11, English Valleys 1
The Ravens gave up just one run to the Bears in the fifth inning on Saturday.
Liam Schrock went 3-for-3 in the game with an RBI.
Josiah Beachy and Mason Helmuth both had two hits with Helmuth tallying two RBIs.
Grant Bender finished with a hit and four RBIs.
Bender pitched five innings, giving up one unearned run on three hits with three strikeouts.
Hillcrest Academy 4, Keokuk 2
The Ravens were down 2-1 after three innings on Saturday to Keokuk, but went on to score three in three straight inning to get by the Chiefs.
Liam Schrock and Luke Schrock both had a hit and an RBI in the win.
Seth Ours and Jace Rempel had a hit as well.
Rempel took the victory on the mound, giving up two runs (zero earned) on four hits and five strikeouts.
Pekin 12, Lone Tree 4
Pekin held a 4-2 lead after one inning and never lost it.
Levi Coleman and Ben Ehret each had two hits in the game. Coleman had a team-high three RBIs.
Will Adam, Hudson VanEnglenhoven and JaeDon Wolver each had two RBIs on one hit as well.
Cade Parmenter had an RBI too.
Highland 8, Wapello 4
Highland led Wapello 2-1 after the third inning on Thursday, but the Huskies went on to score two in the fifth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh to seal it.
Ethan Paisley went 4-for-4 in the game with four RBIs. Tyler Thompson had two hits and two RBIs, while Peyton Yeggy had an RBI.
Highland 2, Winfield-Mt. Union/Columbus 1
WMU/Columbus and Highland were tied at 1-1 from the second inning to the sixth on Friday.
The Huskies went on to score one in the bottom of the sixth to win it.
Logan McFarland, Kody Grecian and Landon Roling each had a hit in the game for Highland.
Grecian had the lone RBI.
Ethan Paisley took the win on the mound, giving up one run (one earned) on two hits and eight strikeouts.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont 8, Cardinal 5
Cardinal trailed EBF 8-2 after three innings on Friday.
The Comets were able to score three between the fifth and sixth, but that’s all they could muster.
Braden Ballard had three hits and two RBIs for the Comets.
Gavin Ware and Craig Miller each had a hit, with Ware grabbing two RBIs as well.
Jacob Figueroa ended with an RBI too.
Central Lee 6, Van Buren County 5
Van Buren County suffered its second loss of the season on Thursday to Central Lee.
The Warriors led 2-0 from the first to the fourth, but five runs in the fifth and one more in the eighth was enough to propel the Hawks to a win.
Taylor Sprouse and Jackson Manning both had a pair of hits for the Warriors. Sprouse ended with four of five RBIs and Anthony Duncan had the other.
Dylan Richardson, Izaak Loeffler and Lucas Fett each had a hit.
Iowa Valley 4, Keota 0
Iowa Valley scored four runs between the fifth and sixth inning to get by Keota on Friday.
Evan Vittetoe had two hits for the Eagles. Dalton Dodd and Caleb Waterhouse each had one.
Mediapolis 16, New London 1
Mediapolis held a 9-1 lead after two innings on Thursday.
The Tigers never scored again and the Bulldogs added seven between the fourth and fifth.
Kye Reighard, Tate Welcher and Cale Westerbeck all had a hit in the loss for New London.
