Eagles get revenge on Huskies in second night of action

Tuesday night saw just a handful of teams back on the ball diamond here in the early season.
After all was a said and done, just one Union area squad saw victory on the night.
Keota 7, Highland 1
Keota got a little revenge against Highland after an opening season loss on Tuesday.
The Eagles scored three between the first two innings, but the Huskies were able to bring it within two after a one run third.
Keota went on to outscored Highland 4-0 from the fourth inning on.
Tanner Waterhouse had two hits to lead the Eagles. Aidan Anderson, Cole Kindred, Billie Kindred, Aiden McGuire and Evan Vittetoe had one hit.
Anderson finished with three RBIs, Vittetoe ended with two, while Chase Sieren and Waterhouse had one.
Anderson was on the mound for Keota.
Highland’s Ethan Simpson had the lone hit for the Huskies.
Ethan Paisley threw from the hill.
Both the Huskies and Eagles are 1-1.
Oskaloosa 11, Fairfield 1
Fairfield had a tough go against Oskaloosa on Tuesday.
The Trojans gave up three runs in the first inning and were able to bring it to within two in the third, 1-3, but the Indians added eight between the fifth and sixth inning.
Caden Allison led the Trojans with two hits in the loss. Landon Nodurft, Luke Konczal and Tallon Bates all had one hit.
Konczal tallied the lone RBI.
Aidan Kreuter, Isaac Harris and Dain Burkhart all pitched for the Trojans.
Fairfield drops to 0-2 in the early season.
Moravia 9, Pekin 7
Moravia scored all nine runs through the first four innings of action on Tuesday.
Pekin gradually chipped away at the lead with a four run fourth and one run each in the sixth and seventh, but the Panthers could never get the lead.
Pekin sits at 0-2.
No. 3 (Class 4A) Johnston 7, No. 2 (Class 2A) Mid-Prairie 0
Mid-Prairie gave up seven runs to Johnston through the second and fourth innings on Tuesday night, suffering its first loss of the season.
Karson Grout led the Golden Hawks with two hits in the game. Brock Harland had one.
Alex Bean and Brady Weber allowed a combined six hits and had six strikeout in the game.
Mid-Prairie moves to 1-1.
