As postseason baseball approaches at the end of the week, area baseball teams are looking to end the regular season on a high note.
While a plethora of teams already have their eyes set on Saturday’s first round matchups, a trio of teams were still in action on Wednesday night.
Van Buren County 11, Davis County 0
Van Buren County had no problem with Davis County in the pair’s Wednesday night action.
Jackson Manning led the way for VBC with two hits and three RBIs.
Lucas Fett finished 2-for-3 with an RBI as well.
Anthony Duncan had a hit and two RBIs. Dylan Richardson and Izaak Loeffler both finished with a hit and an RBI.
Highland 9, BGM 5
BGM jumped out to a 2-0 lead over Highland on Wednesday, but the Huskies were able to tie it after three innings.
After a scoreless fourth and fifth, Highland put seven runs on the board in the sixth and seventh to win it.
Moravia 13, Cardinal 3
Moravia’s seven runs in the first inning were just too much for Cardinal on Wednesday night.
Cardinal got three back in the third, but the Mohawks plated two more in the fourth and four in the fifth.
For the Comets, Cayden Courtney went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Tatem Telfer finished 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Jacob Figueroa, Drake Durflinger and Craig Miller all had one hit.
On the mound, Courtney, Durflinger and Quinn Snyder gave up a combined 13 runs (four earned) on 12 hits and three strikeouts.
