The area's small schools have begun to wrap up the regular season with tournament baseball right around the corner. New London and Cardinal both picked up nonconference wins, while Highland and Van Buren County dropped out-of-league games.
New London bats blister Keota
KEOTA - The New London offense was working in a nonconference game at Keota. The Tigers busted out 17 runs, 14 over the final three innings of a 17-5 win in six innings.
Carter Allen led the Tigers at the plate and on the mound. Allen went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, and picked up the win on the pitcher's mound, giving up four earned runs over five innings.
Tucker Gibbar and Ryan Richey each knocked in two runs. Holvin Catala went 3-for-5 with an RBI. Josh Catala, Kooper Schulte, Shae Summerfield and Jaxon Allen each knocked in one.
It was Keota's first loss since July 1. They had won three-straight games coming into Tuesday night's game.
Cardinal wins fifth-straight
ELDON - The Cardinal baseball team has been red-hot in the last two weeks, and they stayed that way with a 7-4 win over Davis County. After allowing a Mustang run in the third, Cardinal responded with four in the third and three in the fourth to take a commanding 7-1 lead. Davis County cut the lead to three with a three-run seventh.
Dawson Lewis went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Landon Becker had 1-for-4 with two RBIs, and Peyton Johnson went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Jentry Arbogast gave up one unearned run over five innings and struck out eight batters in a five-inning start.

SIGOURNEY - Highland (7-5) lost at Sigourney (9-5), 12-6.
Brenton Bonebrake went 2-for-2 and Highland teammate Bill Laughlin was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Trevor McFarland had a double.
Highland went through four pitchers with Laughlin tossing five innings and allowing 10 hits, two runs but none earned, two walks and a strikeout.
Warriors drop home game to Ft. Madison
KEOSAUQUA - Van Buren County couldn't contain a high-powered Ft. Madison offense in a nonconference home game. The Bloohouds scored the first six runs of the game, including five in the fourth, to take an early 6-0 lead, and the Warriors never got even.
Van Buren has now lost three-straight games after their 24-run output at Danville on June 25. All three losses have come to teams with winning records.
