Cardinal finished strong in its first game against Davis County on Tuesday.
The Comets scored two runs through three innings, but scored five in the fourth and three more in the sixth to pull away.
Cardinal 12, Davis County 6
Cardinal led Davis County just 5-4 after two innings, but the Comets went on to score seven through the fourth and sixth innings.
North Mahaska 8, Keota 4
North Mahaska scored all eight runs through the first three innings to get by Keota on Tuesday night.
The Eagles scored just one run through four innings, before adding three more in the fifth and sixth.
Moravia 7, Fairfield 6
Fairfield came up just short against Moravia on Tuesday.
The Trojans trailed 6-3 after four innings, but tied it heading into the eighth inning. However, the Mohawks scored one in the bottom of the ninth to win it.
Clear Creek Amana 14, Mt. Pleasant 1
Mt. Pleasant had a tough time with the Clippers on Tuesday evening.
CCA scored all 14 runs through the first four innings, while the Panthers lone run came in the fifth.
Mediapolis 4, New London 3
New London and Mediapolis went 11 innings on Tuesday.
The Tigers and Bulldogs were tied 3-3 from the seventh to the 11th before Mediapolis scored the game winning run.
West Burlington 9, Winfield-Mt. Union 7
Winfield-Mt. Union’s comeback bid just fell short against West Burlington on Tuesday.
The Wolves trailed 8-1 after five innings, but went on to score six in the final two innings. In the end it wasn’t quite enough.
