Baseball: Warriors, Ravens, Eagles victorious

Van Buren County 16, Highland 0

Van Buren County scored 16 runs in a shutout victory over Highland on Wednesday.

Jackson Manning had a pair of hits and four RBIs in the victory for the Warriors.

Taylor Sprouse and Dominic Meierotto both had two RBIs on one hit.

T.J. Jirak, Lucas Fett and Isaiah Meek each had a hit as well. Sam Warth finished with one RBI.

Sprouse threw all four innings, giving up just one hit with five strikeouts.

Hillcrest Academy 10, West Burlington 6

Hillcrest Academy led 7-3 after three innings on Wednesday.

West Burlington cut it to one, 7-6, with three runs in the top of the fifth, but the Ravens added three in the bottom of the sixth to seal it.

Seth Ours and Jace Rempel both had two hits for the Ravens. Rampel also had three RBIs.

Luke Schrock had two hits as well with a pair of RBIs.

Liam Schrock, Rowan Miller, Grant Bender and Josiah Beachy each had a hit as well. Mason Bender and Grant Bender both ended with an RBI.

Phoenix Anderson threw six innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits and six strikeouts.

Josiah Beachy threw one, giving up one hit with one strikeout.

Keota 5, BGM 4

Keota and BGM were tied at 3-3 after four innings of action, but Keota’s two runs in the bottom of the sixth was enough to win it.

Dalton Dodd led the Eagles with two hits and one RBI.

Evan Vittetoe had two hits as well.

Billie Kindred and Chase Sieren both had two RBIs. Kindred had one hit as well.

Aiden McGuire, Caleb Waterhouse and Tanner Waterhouse both had hits too.

Aidan Anderson took the win on the hill, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts.

Mediapolis 13, Pekin 2

Mediapolis scored all 13 runs between five innings on Wednesday.

Pekin scored two in the bottom of the fourth.

For the Panthers, Cade Parmenter, Will Adam, Levi Coleman and Deklan Hampton all had hits. Coleman finished with two RBIs.
