Boone hits 150 wins, Demons take home triangular

WASHINGTON — It was a night of positives for the Washington boys wrestling team on Thursday. The Demons not only scooped up a conference and non-conference victory, but also saw one of their senior leaders hit a huge milestone.
Demon standout Aaron Boone picked up career win number 150 with a pin over Sigourney-Keota’s Dylan Weber in the 138-pound match.
“He's such a hardworking good kid,” said Demon head coach Justin Chambers. “It's his dedication to the craft. He is always looking for ways to improve.”
Boone had two wins over the night. He pinned Keokuk’s James Neff in the Demons’ 69-12 conference victory over the Chiefs.
“It feels pretty good, but it's only a milestone,” Boone said after the triangular. “That's only a small thing I want. I still want that state championship.”
Washington dropped SK, 60-24, and SK beat Keokuk 60-18. The Demon girls weren’t as fortunate, losing 19-18.
