MT. PLEASANT — The Mt. Pleasant Panthers’ currently vacant head coaching spot won’t be vacant for very much longer. Pending board approval this week, John Bowlin of Iowa Valley will be sliding into the head coaching spot this fall.
Bowlin, who has been teaching at Iowa Valley for nearly 15 years, will head south to lead the Panthers.
According to Mt. Pleasant Athletic Director Scot Lamm, the job has already been offered and accepted, and that board approval is expected some time this week.
Bowlin is no stranger to Henry County, as Iowa Valley played three of the county’s teams this season, beating Winfield-Mount Union but losing to WACO and New London.
More information on the hire will be in Wednesday’s edition of the Union.
