It was a tight contest, but the Washington boys? bowling team fell just short of knocking off rival Fairfield on Saturday afternoon.
Twenty-four pins were all that separated the Demon boys from a victory on Saturday afternoon at Flamingo Lanes in Fairfield, as they fell in a final score of 2,514 to 2,490.
The big difference came in the individual rounds, which saw Fairfield outscore the Demons by 20 pins. The Baker games were a dead heat for the teams, with Fairfield only outscoring Washington by four pins.
Individually, the Demons were led by sophomore Tucker Renoux, who rolled a team-best 341 for his two games, including a 201 in the first game.
Collin Zear was right behind him with a 339 (161, 178), while Kylan Gillette notched a 330 (172, 158).
Bailey Curtis scored a 324 (185, 139), while Kolton Segebart had a 315 (146, 169) and Riley Lambert rolled a 289 (151, 138).
On the girls? side of the meet, the Trojans cruised to a 2,554 to 1,721 victory over the Demons.
Individually, Washington was led by sophomore AnnaMarie Walter?s 272 (144, 128), and Cheyenne Gillete?s 267 (114, 153).
Trista Kelly rolled a 255 (136, 119) for the Demons, while Erin Bailey had a 204 (92, 112) and Emily Kimmel had a 199 (91, 108).
Washington?s next meet will be at home, when they host Mt. Pleasant.
