It was a competitive year for the Southeast Iowa Super Conference, and that led to a number of postseason selections for area teams.
Highland?s three first-team All-Conference selections were featured in an earlier version of The Journal, but Columbus managed to claim a spot on the first-team list, with WACO and IMS each claiming second-team athletes.
Columbus? Shania Boyd was named to the All-SEISC first team for her efforts in a high-scoring junior year.
Boyd was one of the focal points to her squad?s offense, posting more than one-third of her team?s shot attempts and translating that into 16.3 points per game.
Boyd also led her team with 5.8 rebounds per game and made 105 of her 392 points from the charity stripe.
While being a main scoring threat, Boyd was also smart with the ball, dishing out nearly two assists per game this year, and leading the team with 78 steals.
Joining Boyd on the All-Conference lists from Columbus was fellow junior Bailey Stroud.
Stroud earned second-team honors for her efforts this year, leading the team in assists (78) despite missing six games in the middle of the season.
She also averaged 13.6 points per game for the Wildcats and 3.1 rebounds to earn the recognition.
Earning honorable mention for Columbus were Kortney Orr and Sarah Todd.
WACO junior Halle Kissell earned a second-team All-Conference recognition for the Warriors this season.
Kissell did many things for the Warriors, playing the inside and averaging 9.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
She also led the team in steals (52) while dishing out 26 assists, good for third on the team.
Kiana Miller and Kasey Sutton were WACO?s honorable mention selections.
IMS freshman Suzanna Yoder made an impact early and often this year for her team and turned it into a second-team All-Conference selection.
Yoder led her squad in points (8.3 per game) assists (43), steals (32) and rebounds (5.7 per game), to earn the recognition and will be a part of a squad that only loses one senior next year.
IMS? honorable mention selections were sophomore Rachel Miller and senior Jessica Bender, who posted 71 blocks this year.
