After a season-opening loss at Iowa City Liberty, the Washington High School girls soccer team reeled off five consecutive wins by a total score of 27-4.
However, Washington is mired in a four-game losing streak after last Thursday's 8-1 loss at Iowa City Regina.
The Demons' home game Monday was postponed and no makeup date has been scheduled. The Demons return to Southeast Conference play with a home match against Keokuk Thursday.
The Demons have a 5-5 record and are 2-2 in the SEC.
Washington's boys are 2-6 and 1-3 in the SEC. The Demons' match at Columbus Monday was postponed until 10 a.m. Saturday.
Washington plays at Keokuk Thursday.
Highland has a 1-7 record after Saturday's 2-1 home loss to Holy Trinity. Jordan Sosa scored the goal.
The Mid-Prairie girls soccer team is 3-3 after Friday's 6-3 win over the visitors from West Branch.
Ester Hughes and Sydney Yoder, both freshmen, scored two goals apiece in the victory. Freshman Julia Boller and junior Elizabeth Baker each neeted a score. Freshman Kaitlyn Martin had an assist as did junior Ingrid Gingerich. Freshman Ainsley Lueck had seven saves in goal.
The Hawks play at Columbus Friday.
The Golden Hawk boys sport a 5-3 ledger after losing to West Branch Friday at the University of Iowa. Zeus Fugate scored the goal. The loss snapped a four-game win streak.
Mid-Prairie hosts Cedar Valley Christian friday.
