A huge win for Mid-Prairie over River Valley rival Iowa City Regina highlighted a full day of small school boys basketball action in Southeast Iowa.
Mid-Prairie 58, Regina 52
The Golden Hawks pulled past the Regals in a River Valley South showdown at Xtream Arena in Iowa City.
Mid-Prairie trailed 44-43 after three quarters, but the Golden Hawks had plenty left in the tank. Mid-Prairie outscored Regina 15-8 in the final eight minutes.
Alex Bean scored 21 points to lead Mid-Prairie to victory. Ace Peck put up 11.

Winfield-Mount Union 62, Louisa-Muscatine 50
The Wolves used a 20-point first quarter to run out to an 11-point lead after one quarter, but Louisa-Muscatine made it a little interesting, sticking with WMU for the next three quarters.
Cam Buffington went for 33 points and 10 rebounds in the home win. Jake Edwards had 12 points and seven assists. Carter Loyd had nine points. Abram Edwards finished with a team-high 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Hillcrest Academy 67, Highland 13
Hillcrest Academy scored a resounding win over the rival Huskies in Kalona.
Hillcrest led the game 22-0 after one quarter and 35-2 at halftime. Highland scored 11 points in the fourth quarter, but Hillcrest just kept coming.
Pekin 67, Wapello 39
Pekin won every quarter of a Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division showdown. The Panthers led 31-16 at halftime and 46-28 after three quarters.
Knoxville 84, Cardinal 50
Cardinal’s defense had a tough time trying to slow down a tough Knoxville team in a South Central Conference road game.
North Mahaska 69, Keota 64
Keota had a 25-13 lead after the first quarter, but North Mahaska clawed back, cutting the lead to 31-27 at halftime and winning each quarter of the second half.
It was a much better performance for the Eagles than the first time, as North Mahaska beat Keota 69-40 earlier this season.
Sawyer Stout scored 21 points in the loss. Cole Kindred finished with 16 points and nine assists, and Billie Kindred finished with 10.
