WACO rolls through Sigourney, Highland picks up first win of the season

The Golden Hawks won a battle of newly ranked Class 2A squads.
Mid-Prairie had to battle back from a 21-16 deficit after one quarter to lead 35-32 at halftime and 58-44 after three. Williamsburg put together a furious fourth quarter run before coming up short.
Carter Harmsen put up 20 points to lead the Golden Hawks. Will Cavanagh had 18 points and five assists, and Ethan Kos finished with 18 points and 11 assists.
WACO 66, Sigourney 32
The WACO boys stayed hot with a dominant nonconference win at Sigourney.
The Warriors led 13-8 after one quarter, 29-21 at halftime and 53-27 after three quarters en route to a victory that raised them to 9-2 overall this season.
Highland 21, Lone Tree 10
Highland secured a comeback victory in Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division play as the Huskies picked up their first victory of the season.
Highland trailed 13-3 after one quarter and 13-6 at halftime, but the Huskies scored 41 points over the final two frames to get into the winner’s column for the first time.
Chase Schultz scored 18 points for the Huskies. Connor Grinstead had 12 points and nine rebounds.
