Pekin (8-6) 51, Hillcrest Academy (11-5) 40
Pekin picked up a huge Southeast Iowa Super Conference North victory over Hillcrest Academy on Tuesday.
The Ravens led 12-10 after one quarter, but a 12-0 second period from the Panthers gave them a lead they would never lose.
The second half was near dead even as Pekin just edged Hillcrest Academy 29-28.
Mid-Prairie (6-6) 65, Durant (0-15) 43
Mid-Prairie had no problem with Durant in their Tuesday night matchup.
No. 5 Keota (14-0) 80, English Valleys (1-15) 28
Keota kept its undefeated streak alive on Tuesday with the thrashing of English Valleys. The Eagles won each quarter, 25-6, 22-5, 18-13 and 15-4.
Sawyer Stout finished with 24 points for Keota. Cole Kindred followed with 17 and Chase Haifley 10.
Wapello (5-10) 62, Columbus (2-12) 57
Columbus just couldn’t get over the hump on Tuesday night against Wapello.
The Wildcats trailed by just eight, 32-24, at the half, but that lead would be enough for Wapello to win it as Columbus was only able to edge Wapello 33-30 in the second half.
Tim Hills-Carrier led the Wildcats with 26 points and nine boards in the loss. Ellis Hills-Carrier followed with 10 and Juan Chairez scored seven.
Mediapolis (8-4) 61, New London (3-12) 56
New London came up just short at Mediapolis on Tuesday evening.
The Bulldogs led 28-17 after the first and then 32-26 at the half. New London trimmed the lead even more through the third, but they still trailed 43-38 heading into the fourth.
New London battled all they could, but the two squads scored 18 each in the fourth and Mediapolis was able to win it.
