Boys basketball roundup: Tigers win fourth straight

New London 61, Mediapolis 49
New London handled Mediapolis on Tuesday night.
The Tigers won three of the four quarter on the night, taking each 14-7, 16-8 and 14-11. The Bulldogs took the fourth 23-17, but the Tigers lead was too much.
Blaise Porter finished with 35 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in the win. Leo Gebauer finished with 11 and Brendan Richey had 10.
Mid-Prairie 62, Durant 54
Mid-Prairie was able to edge Durant with a strong first and final quarter in the two’s meeting on Tuesday.
The Golden Hawks led 21-15 after one and 31-25 after two.
Durant made it a four point game, 44-41, after a 16-13 third. The Golden Hawks outscored the Wildcats 18-13 in the fourth to seal it.
Camron Pickard led the Golden Hawks with 20 points in the win. Alex Bean finished with 19 and Dylan Henry had seven.
Keota 63, Iowa Valley 52
Keota trailed after a half to Iowa Valley, but the Eagles dominated the second half on their may to victory.
Keota was outscored 32-29 in the first half, but the Eagles went on to take the third 14-10 and the fourth 20-10.
Sawyer Stout led Keota with 20 points. Cole Kindred finished with 15. Evan Vittetoe had 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Wapello 53, Columbus 41
Columbus battled to the end against Wapello on Tuesday night, but a slow first quarter plagued them in the end.
The Wildcats were outscored 21-6 after one quarter. Columbus bounced back with a 13-5 second to make it 26-19 at the half.
Wapello took the third 13-5, while Columbus won the fourth 17-14, but it wasn’t enough.
Danville 47, Van Buren County 19
Van Buren County hung right with Van Buren County through the first half, but scoring woes in the second half did them in.
Danville took the first 8-6 and the second 11-10 for a halftime lead of 19-16.
In the second half it was all Bears as they dropped in 28 point, while giving up just three to the Warriors.
