Boys basketball roundup: WACO stays perfect

No. 4 WACO 66, Louisa-Muscatine 33
WACO had no problem with Louisa-Muscatine on Tuesday.
The Warriors took each quarter, 17-9, 24-8 and 18-3.
The Falcons won the fourth, 13-7, but the WACO lead was too great.
Hunter Hughes led the Warriors with 21 points. Colton Lichty and Odee Shtefanchuk both ended with seven.
Columbus 78, Highland 55
Columbus got its second victory of the season with the win over Highland.
The Wildcats took the first two quarter, 24-6 and 16-13 for a 40-19 lead at the break.
Highland battle back with a 16-12 third, but the Wildcats ended with a 26-20 quarter to seal it.
Grant Watson led Columbus with 21 points, 15 rebounds, six assists and five steals. Timothy Hills followed with 17 points and Daniel Martinez had 14.
Logan Bonebrake paced Highland with 14 points. Tyler Thompson finished with 12 and Bryce Hazelett ended with 10.
Keota 67, Montezuma 62
Keota was able to skate past Montezuma on Tuesday night.
The Eagles took the first two quarters, 20-18 and 16-14 or a 36-32 lead.
Montezuma bounced with an 22-18 third to tie it at 54-54 heading into the fourth, but Keota took the fourth 13-8.
Evan Vittetoe scored 16 points for the Eagles. Cole Kindred added 15 and Billie Kindred finished with 14.
Chariton 73, Cardinal 63 (OT)
Cardinal and Chariton needed overtime to decide a winner on Tuesday.
The Comets held a large 41-19 after two quarter, but the Chargers stormed back with a 42-20 second half to force overtime.
Cardinal was outscored 12-2 in the extra period.
West Liberty 33, Van Buren County 28
Van Buren didn't have quite enough against West Liberty.
West Liberty led 13-8 after one and 20-10 at the break.
Van Buren took the third 11-8 and the fourth 7-5, but it wasn’t enough.
